Taxi Violence and Joshua Grierson at Mercury Live

Waxing Lyrical is all about celebrating the art of songwriting and features stripped down performances by your favourite bands. Kinda like unplugged, but more fun... and not so dreary.
The scene is set with small tables, colourful tablecloths & slow-burning Candles. You can order food from Diva´s in Buitenkant and blankets are available for the easily chilled.
On Wednesday 18th July, Mercury Live will feature unique stripped down performances by prodigious hard-rock-revivalists Taxi Violence, supported by the electrifying Joshua Grierson.
Taxi Violence
Taxi Violence has travelled a long and independent road to proving themselves as one of the best live acts in South Africa. Their sound can be described as blues-infused retro rock with a pinch of sleaze and bourbon for good measure. Since their inception, Taxi Violence has gone on to rock every significant venue and major festival in South Africa, as well as taking their unique brand of rock and quality live shows abroad.
Joshua Grierson
Josh Grierson possesses more heart and depth than most sharing his craft. His one-man folk/blues/alt-country/rock incarnation is quickly emerging as the performance to match this year. Passion, humour, possession, artistry, (mad) dance, rhythm, holding a crowd in his hand, incredible guitarist, pipes like a cathedral organ. That´s Joshua Grierson and more.
