Cafe d´ Arts

Tucked away in an unexpected corner of Diep River I stumbled upon Cafe d´ Arts. A cosy little cafe with good food, great service and a very relaxed vibe. There is an outside deck are with wooden tables and chairs and a lovely view of the mountain. But beware, this is the windy city so hold onto your serviettes if you´re an adamant smoker and insist on being outdoors.

The inside area has a relaxing and warm feel and one can get very comfortable on the sofas - which is great for an afternoon catch up with friends. On the other hand if you´re hanging around in the area on business or waiting for your car at one of the many surrounding workshops (as I was) - the cafe has a free WiFi service so you don´t have to give social networking or your business reports a miss.

The menu has a great variety of breakfasts, sandwiches, salads and burgers. For those with a sweet tooth - prepare to be sugared as there is a lovely selection of cakes and treats. The milkshakes are simply delicious and come in generous helpings complete with a finishing touch of cream and cinnamon.

All in all Cafe d´ Arts is a lovely little cafe with friendly staff and in-keeping with Cape Town´s laid back culture. Catering and wedding services are also available and if you considering a new hobby you should attend one of Lynn´s craft classes (scrap booking, embroidery, mosaics etc) in the afternoon between 2 and 4.

By happy accident I got taken out to breakfast twice this week at Cafe d'Arts. What a gem of a coffee shop. Totally beats the competition in the area hands down. Nice place, great food, terrific service, good prices and stunning view. What more could one ask for?

I absolutely love this place. My parents stumbled upon it in 2009 and since I've been, I've never looked back. I especially love the little biscuits you get with your warm beverages...YUMMY!!!
